The artist casting memories out of body parts
Zhou Yi is an artist who captures casts of people’s body parts, turning them into truly personalized jewelry. At the BodyMemory Clinic in a Beijing hutong, she turns bodies into wearable art. She tells Inkstone that it’s a way of preserving and capturing the emotions and memories we bring to our bodies. She thinks the popularity of her project represents an increasing level of self-awareness among Chinese youth.
